bpost Booking Discount for direct mail

Dear customer,

Through Manu-Mail you can benefit from Bpost’s Booking Discount, applicable to DM Easy and DM Boost. We discuss this option for every eligible mailing, but we never activate it automatically: we only apply the Booking Discount after your explicit approval.

The Booking Discount currently represents about 3% discount on the applicable Bpost postage rate. However, Bpost imposes strict conditions. If crucial parameters change after the booking (such as mailing date, product type or volumes), Bpost may not only remove the discount, but in some scenarios may also apply an additional surcharge.

What is the Booking Discount?

The Booking Discount is an operational discount that Bpost grants for mailings that are planned on time and correctly in the planning application e-MassPost.

The discount is not applied automatically: during the booking process, “Booking Discount” must be selected explicitly and all conditions must be fulfilled.

Main Bpost conditions

In summary, Bpost applies among others the following conditions:

• The product is DM Easy or DM Boost.
• The mailing is planned at least 5 working days before the mailing date.
• During the order, the option “Booking Discount” is explicitly selected.
• The number of items is more than 5,000 (the discount only applies from 5,001 items upwards).
• The actual deposit (date, volume, product) matches the booked parameters.

How does the Booking Discount work via Manu-Mail?

You do not have to do anything yourself in e-MassPost. The booking via Manu-Mail works as follows:

1. Plan your mailing (DM Easy or DM Boost) and request your quotation or confirmation from Manu-Mail.
2. Indicate whether you wish to use the Booking Discount.
   Mention this in your request or confirmation (via e-mail to your account manager).
3. Send us your planning details on time – at least 5 working days before your desired mailing date:
   • desired deposit date at Bpost;
   • chosen product: DM Easy or DM Boost;
   • the exact number of items (minimum 5,001 items for Booking Discount);
   • weight and format of the mailing;
   • the addresses in an Excel file.
4. We book your mailing in e-MassPost, with or without Booking Discount – fully according to your choice and within the applicable deadlines.
5. You receive from us a summary of the booked parameters via an order form (number of items, product, deposit date, Bpost office).

If you do not want the Booking Discount

If you deliberately choose not to use the Booking Discount, we book your mailing without this option. Your mailing will then be processed at Bpost’s preferential rates, but without the extra 3% discount and without additional conditions or risks linked to the Booking Discount.

If you do want the Booking Discount

If you explicitly request the Booking Discount, we first check whether:

• the booking deadline can be met (at least 5 working days before the mailing date);
• the volume is above 5,000 items;
• the other parameters (product, planning) are sufficiently stable.

If everything is in order, we book your mailing with Booking Discount according to Bpost’s rules. If changes are still needed later (for example deposit date or volume), we will discuss the possible consequences together: loss of discount, surcharges, or an adjustment of your planning or product.
